Abstract

This paper presents a description and evaluation of a high school peer counselling program, three years after its implementation in 1989. Peer counsellors improved their personal abilities, the informal helping network of the school was strengthened, and the students expressed general satisfaction with the program. However, no effect of the program on the general atmosphere of the school was detected.
